The vegan wedding in Sevilla of Almudena and Jimmy

Almudena and Jimmy got married the last 5th of October and we were their lucky fairy godmothers. When we really got to know them, we realised that, apart from being totally and deeply in love, they were pretty sensitive, animal lovers and very respectful of the environment. Of course, they passed all these feelings on to us.

In Weddings With Love we got all these statements clear as crystal, but we had never organised a completely vegan wedding so we knew it was going to be kind of a challenge to us, a challenge we were looking forward to confronting.

Almudena and Jimmy’s Big Day

Our lovely couple celebrated their ceremony, feast and party at Torre Doña María, an arabesque style hacienda of the XI century located in Dos Hermanas. Its gardens and the whitewash walls are incredible!

Muelle 21 was in charge of getting the perfect vegan lunch. Here in Spain when you tell people that you’re celebrating a vegan wedding they are a little bit shocked as they don’t have that internalised the idea of a vegan diet. Despite that, we can tell that A+J’s guests highly enjoyed their meals. We are sure that if we hadn’t told them how special this wedding was going to be, they wouldn’t have realised about it.

The vegan menu of A+J’s wedding

Celebrating a completely vegan wedding is possible if you’re working with the right vendors. So if you’re into veganism you should have a look at Almudena and Jimmy’s wedding menu.

For the reception, they chose the following aperitifs:

  • Buffet of vegan cheeses
  • Buffet of cold creams: salmorejo, beetroot and melon with peppermint
  • Small pasties of apple and chocolate
  • Falafel
  • Mini potatoes with vegetable tartar
  • Guacamole and hazelnut corneto
  • Bread with “porra antequerana”, shoestring fries and fake eggs
  • Maki sushi of mango and avocado
  • Vegetal gyozas
  • Vegetarian meatballs
  • “Bravas” with salicornia
  • Burger with roast vegetables and almonds
  • Spinach croquettes
  • Vegan meatballs
  • Macaroons of hummus
  • Tempeh with curry and coconut sauce

For the main menu, they chose these delicious dishes: mushrooms and bechamel cannellone, rice with seasonal vegetables and as a dessert they opted for a chocolate millefeuille. Yummy, yummy!

Nowadays, vegan products are everywhere, you can practically find them in every supermarket and restaurant and now we have proved that you can have them at a wedding too. The bridal sector is always on-trend, that is why it shouldn’t be weird to organise a completely vegan wedding.

The wedding decoration

Weddings With Love was in charge of decorating Almudena and Jimmy’s wedding. Encaroma did the floral backdrop for the ceremony and Magia Florhada the centrepieces for the lunch tables. Miriam created beautiful autumnal still live pieces, perfect for an October wedding!

Also, Almudena and Jimmy wanted their guests to have fun since the very first moment, that’s why they decided to have a Cuban music group for the reception, Son de Cuba. For the party, their guests danced the evening away thanks to the great work of Jesús Rubio.

She & he

Almudena got involved in every part of her wedding, one of the reasons why we loved working with her. For such a special day she chose a princess style Pronovias gown with a big train, heart neckline and off-the-shoulder sleeves. Her shoes were from Menbur.

Her personal stylist created a beautiful braid for her. Also, Marucca made for Almudena one of her incredible headpieces. Every detail made her look gorgeous.

On the other hand, Jimmy wore a tailored tailcoat by Derby 1951, the brand that also was in charge of the brother of the bride and of the godfather’s look.

We could be writing about this wonderful couple for ages. In fact, we wish all Saturdays were the 5th of October. Love you, guys!
