The wedding at Casa No Tempo of Arthur and Lidia
The 10th of August of 2019 will always be a special date for us. For that day we designed, planned, organised and coordinated the wedding at Casa No Tempo of Arthur and Lidia, the other half of Weddings With Love. For them, we created a party that fit them and the spirit of our company: a natural wedding where our priorities were the details that really added some value to such a special day.
It was very important to find the perfect venue for the couple, but also for us as wedding planners. We visited every place that seemed interesting in Andalucia, but we finally found the right one in Portugal. There, we went to the most wonderful place we had ever seen for celebrating a wedding: Casa No Tempo.
An architectural wedding at Casa No Tempo
Casa No Tempo is located in Sabugueiro, in the middle of nowhere. It is a sustainable rural house that is surrounded by 7 lakes and that was remodeled by the Portuguese architect Manuel Aires Mateus. We had a crush on the property since the very first moment we went there to visit it. The house is decorated in a minimalist way, something we loved because we feel very identified with that style. We were amazed by its small details, as when we saw the mirrors laying on the walls, what gives the house a special light.
Although the day we chose for the first visit it was raining cats and dogs and we had to drive for 3 hours to get there, once we got down the car, we immediately knew that Casa No Tempo was our special place. Despite the bad weather we fell in love with the place so we couldn’t help but think about how it would look on a summer day.
From that day we started to work on the beautiful wedding of Arthur and Lidia. Since then, we knew that a huge challenge for us was coming, given the fact that Casa No Tempo is not a place prepared for hosting events.
The ceremony
Casa No Tempo is a property with more than 4000 square metres, so nothing stopped us from defining where we were going to locate every part of the wedding. We decided to celebrate the ceremony next to 1 of the 7 lakes.
For the most meaningful moment of the wedding, we bet, once more, for a natural style. The couple and the environment had to be more important than the decorations.
We decided to use wood benches for the guests instead of chairs. Also, we prepared a beautiful corner with handheld fans that Agustina Studio designed for us so everyone could get one once they arrived at the ceremony.
The altar was characterised by its minimalism: floral decorations that matched the environment thanks to the work of Siloh Floral and our beige stools upholstered with linen. The wedding ring holder was from Tesela y Pincel.
Manuel Muñoz and Fernando Lama sang during the ceremony the different songs that Lidia and Arthur chose for the most important moments. Without any hesitation, our favourite one was when Lili walked down the aisle with Lucas.
A natural and minimalist decoration
When you are celebrating your wedding at Casa No Tempo you know you need practically nothing, that is why we opted for a natural and minimalist decoration, a premise that matches perfectly Weddings With Love spirit.
The main idea was simple: we had to create decorative corners that were useful but also that didn’t fade the environment we already had, because it was wonderful. To get that we chose natural materials for everything, from the fabrics to the paper. For example, Mama Weddings With Love herself made the small bags we had for the bread.
Siloh Floral was in charge of the floral decoration. We worked side by side with Liz and Alejandra until we found the style we had been dreaming of for months. Since the wedding at Casa No Tempo was going to be in August we knew that the predominant colours there were going to be the earth tones, that is why we decided to work with natural dry flowers.
As Arthur and Lidia wanted to have an eco-friendly wedding they chose to send their guests a digital save the date that was designed by Lembrete. Also, their invitations were made of seeded paper. They were created by Sheedo. Gracie from You Had Me at Hello did the rest of the stationery.
For the seating plan and the menu card, we used a pair of structures made of white forge that we placed at the location we used for the cocktail. As hangers for the seating and menu cards, we used strips of silk.
Ludisound installed wicker standing lamps for the reception and 5 strips of led lights for the dining space. These ones looked like fireflies, it was very cool to see the effect at night!
The gastronomy at Lili and Arthur’s wedding
We are foodie lovers so gastronomy was a very important pillar at Lili and Arthur’s wedding. The caterer we chose was Dani García, the team of the well known Spanish chef that was awarded 3 Michelin stars. We knew them a few years ago and we totally trust their work.
Also, we wanted to have our favourite Iberian ham and of course, as Arthur is from France there were oysters, champagne, a delicious foie, and butter.
As the wedding proposal happened during a trip to Mexico and Cuba we had a corner of Mexican food and a Cuban music group, D’Akokan, during the reception.
For dinner, instead of serving a normal wedding menu we went for tasting one. We started with bread and butter, very typical of Portugal. Straight after that, we continued with foie and the tomato illusion filled with lobster. We ended with black cod. As a dessert Lidia chose her favourite option, that also is Dani Garcia’s fave: a Nutella ice cream with pop-corns.
The guests could find their gift on the table: the customised presentation plates that Graciela Amor al Plato made. All of them had different designs that were about the flowers and plants that you can find at Casa No Tempo.
A Cortana Bridal wedding gown for her
Everything had to be very special for Lili and Arthur’s wedding, that is why we had to think of every small detail for so long. When the wedding planner is the one who is getting married every task involves a lot of time, basically because we don’t have much of it.
For her look, our beautiful bride wanted something that made her shine being herself and we thought of Cortana as the brand that could make her dream come true. The creations of this brand are made of exquisite fabrics and follow a natural and free-flowing style that matched perfectly Lili and Casa No Tempo.
The bride chose the Gala wedding gown, a sateen dress with very thin straps and fitted around the waist. We loved the detail of the buttons at the back placed diagonally. For the ceremony, she also wore a silk tulle coat. She was joyful when she walked down the aisle with her son, Lucas.
Other details of her look
To make Lidia shine a little bit more if that was possible, we wanted to have Marucca by our side. María knows Lili perfectly, we could say that she is almost family. She created 4 pieces that simulated the sun. They were tiled with 18K gold and had a lot of crystals on them. These jewels were very meaningful for the bride.
Oui Novias was in charge of her MUAH. She chose a very natural and neutral look that enhanced her features, something she felt very comfortable with. She had a ballerina bun and a very luminous no-makeup makeup done.
Lidia’s perfect shoes were a customised pair from Just Ene. Her earrings, as well as her engagement and wedding rings, were from the capsule collection from Oui Petit by Weddings With Love. The wedding rings had the word “Oui” engraved, a detail that as a double meaning given the fact that Arthur is French.
Arthur’s look
Since we started with the preparations, we knew that looking for the perfect outfit for Arthur wouldn’t be an easy task, that is why we knew where we had to go to get the best result: Derby 1951. His look should be relaxed but also formal.
Alongside Fernando Porta’s team, we found the perfect three-piece suit. First, we chose a tone that fit him but also that matched Lili’s wedding gown. After having a look at the different options we had we went for a dark beige tone. When we saw the final result of the tailored suit we knew that we had done a great job.
We also bought his tie, shoes, suspenders and the tailored shirt at Derby. Arthur also wore a pocket watch that Lidia gave him as a gift and a very special pair of cufflinks that Patricia, her sister in law, bought for him. They were planes, as he’s a pilot, and they were handmade by Marucca.
Let’s get this party started!
As we said before, we are foodie lovers, but also party lovers! Moisés Losada opened the party singing pop, reggaeton, flamenco, and rumba covers. This performance was a surprise that Patricia and her parents planned for Lidia, Arthur, and their guests.
After that, Xite, from the DJ company XiteandCo., started with his set. Some of the songs he played were a selection that Lili and Arthur did with their friends. The icing on the cake was Priscila Due, who started her DJ set with the famous song Bella Ciao! The guests couldn’t believe it and the only thing they could do was dancing the night away. Of course, we had our friends from Risbox with us with one of their funny photo booths.
And if you think that was all, you’re wrong: there was also a raffle with merchandising of the wedding, from bracelets to sweatshirts and caps with the coordinates of Casa No Tempo printed on them. Furthermore, as another surprise, there was a Coachella style makeup corner thanks to the work of Oui Novias.
Once the party officially started Lidia changed her wedding gown for a short one that she designed with her mother. This one was white too and had lots of beads. Also, she wore another headpiece from Marucca, this time it was an incredible crown full of crystals too.
Thinking about the little guests
Lidia and Arthur are parents, so of course, they thought of celebrating a wedding where the kids had fun too. We hired the team of Isolandia to take care of them during the reception, dinner and party and we created a special corner for them. There, they could play but also sleep on the little mattresses we bought. We built some kind of wood cabin with a touch of natural fabrics, including linen.
We hope you like Lili and Arthur’s wedding at Casa No Tempo, but even more, we hope you get some inspiration from such an important day for us. This will be an unforgettable date on the Weddings With Love calendar because if we already love working as a wedding planner, you can’t imagine how we enjoyed being the one who’s getting married. Of course, we have to thank the amazing work the vendors did. Everything looked incredible.
