Sunny and Lala’s Hindu Wedding in Seville

Sunny and Lala’s Hindu Wedding in Seville

It all began with a phone call from Sunny, and from that moment, we instantly connected with him and Lala in a very special way. The couple wanted a Hindu wedding in Seville, and they entrusted us to organise each event that comes with this type of celebration.

For Hindus, life is divided into different stages, one of which is marriage. A wedding is not merely a celebration of two people coming together but also the fusion of two families—a sentiment reflected in every event and festivity of Sunny and Lala’s union. Their families became one.

Sunny and Lala tied the knot on the 19th of June, but they didn’t pick the date themselves. In case you didn’t know, the date of a Hindu wedding is determined by an astrologer who analyses the couple’s charts. By using their birth dates, astrologers calculate the positions of the planets and stars to determine their celestial union. And voilà—the date is set on the calendar.

An Experiential Wedding in Seville

At Weddings With Love, we are experts and pioneers in luxury experiential weddings. For Sunny and Lala, we curated three unforgettable days of events that neither they, their family and friends, nor we will ever forget. From the moment we began working with them, we enjoyed every step of the journey. Sunny and Lala are extraordinary—they shine. We feel incredibly fortunate to attract such wonderful people to our business: positive, fun, and empathetic. Together, we made an incredible team.

For our experiential weddings, we aim to create moments of intense joy for both the couple and their guests. From the first day, we offer couples a warm and exclusive service. For the guests, we constantly strive for the WOW factor while providing exceptional services to ensure every detail is extraordinary.

Pre-Wedding, Mehndi, Sangeet, and a Hindu Wedding Ceremony

For Hindus, a wedding is much more than just the wedding day. It’s a multi-day experience that includes various rituals, such as the Mehndi and the Sangeet.

Sunny and Lala’s experience began with a stunning pre-wedding event at Seville’s most luxurious hotel. They welcomed guests from around the globe, and it was delightful to hear all the different languages spoken during their celebration.

Lala wore a gorgeous gown by Marco & María paired with Jimmy Choo shoes. Sunny looked dashing in a Hugo Boss suit and Christian Louboutin shoes.

Mehndi and Sagri Ceremony

The next morning, the Mehndi ceremony was held at the hotel where the couple and their guests were staying. Two henna artists adorned the bride’s hands and feet with intricate floral and geometric designs. Guests dressed in stunning saris for the occasion, and the couple gifted everyone bracelets and bindis sourced from India.

The Mehndi ritual symbolises prosperity for the bride and incorporates designs that bring fertility, fortune, and protection to her new journey. Lala even hid Sunny’s name within the henna patterns, which he successfully found!

Following the Mehndi, the Sagri ceremony took place. In this ritual, the groom’s family joins the celebration, presenting the bride with clothing, jewellery, flowers, and other gifts. The ceremony was filled with traditional songs and dances performed by friends and family.

Lala looked breathtaking in a Seema Gujral outfit and Castañer shoes, while Sunny was elegantly dressed in an Anand ensemble and Hermès sandals.

Sangeet

A Hindu wedding is characterised by its numerous events, and on Saturday night, the Sangeet took centre stage. Guests enjoyed delicious Indian cuisine and were welcomed by a neon sign reading, “Sunny and Lalaland.”

The Sangeet, also known as the “music party,” is a vibrant event where both families come together to sing and dance the night away. This celebration fosters a stronger bond between the couple’s families. Lala’s family welcomed Sunny’s family with traditional songs, and the carefully rehearsed performances—months in the making—were truly impressive.

At Weddings With Love, we designed a colourful and joyous celebration where guests donned traditional Indian attire and dazzling jewellery. The evening was filled with dancing, traditional food, and vibrant decorations, including stunning floral arrangements.

Lala wore an exquisite Amit Agarwal dress with Valentino shoes, while Sunny matched her elegance in an Amit Agarwal suit and Valentino shoes.

Hindu Religious Wedding Ceremony

The final day was unforgettable. Sunny and Lala had their Hindu religious ceremony dressed in their finest attire. Lala wore a pink Anushree Reddy gown paired with Castañer wedges, while Sunny chose an Anand suit with Gucci shoes for the ceremony and later changed into a tuxedo by Derby with Christian Louboutin shoes for the party.

The ceremony began with the Barat, where Sunny arrived at the venue in a horse-drawn carriage accompanied by drummers and a lively parade of family and friends. This procession ended with a warm welcome from Lala’s family.

The religious ceremony was led by a Pandit, a priest specialising in Sanskrit scriptures. Sunny and Lala exchanged vows under the Mandap, a traditional Hindu canopy. As is customary in Hindu weddings, the couple exchanged Var Mala, floral garlands symbolising their acceptance of one another.

The ceremony included several rituals, such as the Gathvanda, Kanyadaan, Panigraham, and Saptapadi (the seven vows). Once these rituals were complete, Sunny and Lala were officially married.

Following the ceremony, guests were treated to a luxurious Mediterranean-inspired Michelin-star-worthy culinary experience. The celebrations didn’t end there; the party carried on until 11:00 a.m. the next day at the couple’s hotel, thanks to the incredible energy of their family and friends.
