Good morning!
We’re itching to tell you just how wonderful Javi García and Elena Gómez’s wedding was in Moratalla Palace.
Our love story featuring Elena and Javi’s wedding took place there in January. We received a Facebook message from a lovely girl who lived in Russia who wanted to know whether, with the help of Weddings With Love, she had enough time to be able to tie the knot in June. At first we thought it was a joke; Russia? Finally we realised that Elena was genuine and that she needed help to make her dream of a fairy-tale wedding with the love of her life, Javi, come true.
We immediately set to work. We got in touch with LeBlue, one of our favourite stationery designers. They were in control right from the word go. They designed some gorgeous invitations that perfectly recreated the setting of Moratalla Palace. They also took care of the seating plan, table numbers, signs, badges, mirrors… An endless array of intricate details.
Elena wore a stunning dress from Roberto Diz. She was after something simple, and Roberto had the answer: a white crepe silk dress embellished by hand with nacre. At first we weren’t sure whether to include the mother of pearl. We looked at Elena and Coral (the bride’s sister) questioningly: would it not be too much? In the end we left it up to Roberto; we trusted him. When he showed us the final result… We didn’t dare cry for the embarrassment of causing a scene in the atelier! Elena looked radiant. We knew it was the dress of her dreams. Elena wore gold Jimmy Choo sandals with a 12cm heel. She knew exactly the earrings she was after: yellow gold hoops with diamonds which we found in Aristocrazy. They were the perfect accessory to complement the dress designed by Roberto Diz. The couple’s wedding rings were from Tiffany & Co.
Javi wore a blue wool morning suit designed by our favourite tailors, Derby 1951. Fernando Porta knew what we wanted as soon as we walked through the door – we’re on the same wavelength; our grooms always look impeccable. His black leather shoes were from Lottusse and his cufflinks from Tiffany & Co.
Javi and Elena said their “I do’s” in the Convent of Limpia Concepción in Lora del Río, the bride’s home town.
Elena arrived at the Convent looking radiant in a black and cream convertible Hurtan car from Magistral Royal Cars. After the ceremony, all the guests were transported to what is probably the most beautiful place that we have ever seen, Moratalla Palace in Hornachuelos. This Palace was built in the 19th century for the Marques of Viana, and Alfonso XII and Alfonso XIII strolled through the Gardens; it’s a place bursting with reminders of royalty. Elena wanted her wedding to be held in a unique and idyllic place, and this Palace had everything we needed.
Weddings With Love designed the decoration for the Palace. Elena loves hydrangeas and we adorned the entire Palace and the tables with white, green and pink hydrangeas. We chose cream linen tablecloths and gold-coloured chairs. Everything was in perfect harmony.
Delfín Delicatessen, under the watchful eye of Chef Delfín Cabrera, catered the wedding. The reception was held outside in the Palace’s meadow with views over the Hornachuelos nature reserve. Delfín took us on a gastronomic journey using the flavours of Spain and presented the food beautifully.
Adam Cocktails, specialising in exclusive cocktails, surprised all the guests and the newlyweds with exquisite cocktails prepared in a very sophisticated way using fresh fruit and premium mixers and spirits.
Andy & Lucas, the musical duo from Cadiz, provided the entertainment at the party. Elena is a fan of their music and Javi surprised her with a live concert.
We set up a Candy Bar for Javi and Elena in the colours of their wedding; navy blue, coral and gold. The guests enjoyed an exquisite red fruit Naked Cake, cake pops and mini cupcakes, all courtesy of E’cakes. Frank from Ambrosius made French macarons – he always makes our wishes come true; he added gold dust to the macarons!
We anticipated that Elena and Javi’s party would go on longer and so for dinner, we created an outdoor food market using garlands of lights, illuminated letters and a Food Truck. The guests feasted on hamburgers, hot dogs, crepes, waffles, toffee apples, candyfloss, chocolate strawberries… And so that the party didn’t come to an end, we hired the DJ and house artist Priscila Due who arrived in a chocolate-coloured convertible VW. Weekendwagen supplied the Camper Vans. The percussion show by Nikki Beach residents AV Drums added the finishing touch.
Instantanea and Toma Primera photographed every detail of the wedding; they did a fantastic job and we loved working with with them for the first time.
Michel Maraver recorded Javi and Elena’s wedding, and once compiled with the aerial photographs from Camfly, we’re certain that the video will be spectacular.
Elena is a sweetheart; her look says it all – she is extremely kind-hearted and caring. Beautiful on the outside, you can’t imagine what she’s like on the inside. Javi loves Elena to the moon and back, 3 million times. Everything is insignificant in comparison to his bride. We will never forget Javi and Elena; they’ll always have a place in our hearts.
Thank you to Javi García and Elena Gómez letting us be a part of their Big Day. To their family and friends for all their help. A very special thanks to Coral Gómez for becoming a Wedding Planner for a couple of months 😉 and a huge thank you to all our partners and suppliers for making the difficult easy, for doing a great job for Javi and Elena and for supporting us in our organisation of the wedding. Thank you.
We’ve spent some time wanting to write a post listing the reasons why a couple should hire a Wedding Planner, but we didn’t know how to approach it. One day, whilst chatting to Tamara Mariscal (Weddings With Love bride 13/06/15), we had a lightbulb moment and she kindly offered to tell us why she thinks it’s important to turn to a Wedding Planner when organising your special day. We think she’s done an excellent job!
